Frequently Asked Questions

How does chiropractic help with work injuries?

Chiropractic care treats spinal misalignments, nerve compression, and soft tissue damage, allowing the body to heal naturally. It is especially effective for back pain, neck pain, repetitive strain injuries, and nerve-related conditions like sciatica or carpal tunnel syndrome.

Is chiropractic care covered by workers’ compensation?

Yes! Workers’ compensation in Ohio can cover chiropractic care for most work-related injuries. At Align Chiropractic, we help handle the paperwork and billing process, so you can get the care you need without hassle.

How soon should I see a chiropractor after a work injury?

You should seek treatment as soon as possible after a workplace injury. The longer you wait, the more difficult it can be to correct underlying spinal misalignments, nerve damage, or soft tissue inflammation. Early treatment leads to faster recovery and better long-term results.

What happens if I don’t treat my work injury?

Ignoring a work injury can lead to chronic pain, reduced mobility, and long- term complications that may impact your ability to work. Conditions like sciatica, disc herniations, and repetitive strain injuries can worsen over time, making treatment more difficult.

Can chiropractic care prevent future work injuries?

Yes! Chiropractic care paired with corrective exercises help restore proper posture and movement patterns, reducing the risk of repetitive strain injuries, back pain, and muscle imbalances.

Align is different, it is a chiropractor’s office but more than that it is a professional group who truly care about their patients. You actually feel like you are with friends, people who’s really care about your health.

“Can Chiropractic Care Help Me Recover?”

At Align Chiropractic, we take a comprehensive approach to healing—not just relieving pain, but correcting the root cause of your injury and restoring function for long-term recovery.

Comprehensive Consultation & Examination

Your first visit includes a detailed history of your injury, a physical exam, and, if then X-rays to assess spinal alignment. We take the time to understand your condition and create a personalized treatment plan tailored to your recovery goals.

Chiropractic Adjustments for Spinal Alignment & Pain Relief

Misalignments in the spine, known as subluxations, can lead to nerve compression, muscle tension, and chronic pain. Chiropractic adjustments restore proper spinal function, relieving pressure on affected nerves and improving overall mobility.

Spinal Decompression for Disc & Nerve Relief

For workers dealing with herniated discs, sciatica, or chronic lower back pain, spinal decompression therapy is highly effective. This technique gently stretches the spine, creating space for discs to heal and relieving pressure on pinched nerves.

EPAT Shockwave Therapy for Soft Tissue Repair

Work injuries often involve strained muscles, inflamed tendons, or repetitive motion damage. EPAT Shockwave Therapy promotes tissue regeneration, reduces pain, and speeds up healing, making it an excellent option for chronic pain sufferers.

Therapeutic Exercise for Strength & Injury Prevention

Poor posture, repetitive movements, and muscle imbalances can contribute to chronic work injuries. We develop custom exercise programs to strengthen weak muscles, correct posture, and improve flexibility, reducing the risk of future injuries.

Making Workers’ Compensation Simple & Stress-Free

Navigating workers’ compensation claims can be frustrating and time-consuming. Many medical offices delay treatment, require excessive paperwork, or refuse to treat workers’ comp patients. At Align Chiropractic, we make the process simple so you can focus on healing:

• We provide timely treatment without unnecessary delays.

• Our team communicates directly with insurance providers and casemanagers.

• We document your injury and progress thoroughly for your claim.

• We work to maximize your benefits and ensure your care is covered.

Our goal is to help injured workers get fast, effective treatment without the
stress of complicated paperwork or claim denials.

Common Workplace Injuries and How Chiropractic Helps

Work injuries can happen suddenly, like lifting a heavy box improperly, or develop over time due to repetitive strain. Some of the most frequently treated workplace injuries at Align Chiropractic include:

Lower Back Pain & Sciatica

Many workers develop chronic lower back pain due to poor posture, prolonged sitting, or heavy lifting. If the pain radiates down the legs, it may be a sign of sciatica, a condition caused by nerve compression. Chiropractic adjustments and spinal decompression therapy help relieve pressure on the spine, reducing pain and improving mobility.

Neck & Shoulder Pain from Poor Ergonomics

Sitting at a desk all day, looking down at a screen, or holding a phone between your ear and shoulder can cause neck stiffness, tension headaches, and upper back pain. Chiropractic adjustments realign the spine, while postural correction exercises help prevent recurring pain.

Repetitive Strain Injuries & Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Repetitive tasks such as typing or using hand tools can lead to nerve compression, wrist pain, and numbness in the hands and fingers. Chiropractic care helps improve nerve function, while soft tissue therapy reduces inflammation and restores mobility.

Slip, Fall & Lifting Injuries

Accidents at work—such as slipping on wet floors or lifting heavy objects improperly—can lead to muscle strains, joint misalignments, or spinal. injuries. Chiropractic adjustments, spinal decompression, and corrective exercises help repair damaged tissues and speed up recovery.

Whiplash from Work-Related Auto Accidents

If your job requires driving and you’ve been involved in an accident, whiplash injuries can cause neck pain, dizziness, and reduced range of motion. Chiropractic adjustments and EPAT Shockwave Therapy reduce inflammation and promote faster healing.

Pre Visit

Since chiropractic care involves a series of visits, with each one building on the ones before, it’s important for you to feel comfortable right from the start.

Once you book your appointment, whether online or over the phone with a team member, you’ll immediately be texted and emailed the new patient paperwork. Our doctors spend a great deal of time going through your paperwork together as a team before your visit, so we’re ready as soon as you arrive.

1st Visit

New patients often remark on how friendly the Align Chiropractic office is. Our office also employs the latest technologies: from digital X-rays to a computerized note tracking system. This is important because our goal is to offer state-of-the-art chiropractic care in a comfortable surrounding.

We Explain Everything First
The purpose of your consultation with the doctor is to discuss your health goals and see if chiropractic is likely to help you. If it looks promising, a thorough examination will help identify the cause of your problem. The examination will include orthopedic tests, Range of Motion, and a posture exam. Depending on the results of the exam X-rays will be taken to confirm your condition or diagnosis. Patients appreciate that we explain everything in advance!

2nd & 3rd Visits

After we study your health history and correlate our examination findings, we’ll make recommendations designed to help you get and keep your health. You doctor will then orally go over the findings and give you your first chiropractic adjustment. This is usually attended to on your second visit, which will be the following day.

Report of Findings
The following visit is called the Report of Findings or Doctors Report. This is where we will thoroughly educate and explain your problem and how chiropractic will help. Due to patient volume, the education part of the report is done in a group and the results and insurance financials are then gone over individually.

This is usually attended to on your third visit. This three-visit approach accomplishes several things:

  • Reduces the length of your first visit
  • Gives us time to correlate our findings
  • Avoids overloading you with too much information
  • Allows time to review any financial or care plan questions in detail
  • In certain situations, and in the professional judgment of the doctors we sometimes make exceptions. It just depends on your unique situation.
Long Term

We focus on the nervous system, structural correction, and addressing the cause which allows the body to heal itself. We do believe life-time chiropractic is absolutely beneficial. The Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics reported that “patients who went to DCs (doctors of chiropractic) as their primary care providers had 43% decreases in hospital admissions, 52% reductions in pharmaceutical costs and 43% fewer outpatient surgeries and procedures.” We have hundreds of patients who chose to continue getting adjusted year after year because they experience the benefits of strong immune systems, less sickness, better sleep, more energy, reduced symptoms, and overall better health. We also have patients who get adjusted for a specific issue, experience releif, and decide not to move forward with a wellness or maintenance plan. We high five, let them know we’re thankful to be part of their health journey, and make it clear we’re available with open arms should they ever need care again. We hope you forever take care of your nervous system and overall health, but ultimately, you are in charge of making your own health decisions. We always desire to be on your team and to encourage you along the way.
